Counselor In Training (CIT) Leadership Program

Are you a teen aged 15-18 or a rising 10th-12th grader looking for an exciting summer opportunity? Join the Counselor In Training (CIT) Leadership Program at ÇàÇà²ÝÊÓƵ and spend your summer growing as a leader while making a difference in our community!

The CIT Leadership Program is a hands-on, work-oriented experience designed for teens eager to assist College For Kids instructors and staff. As a CIT, you’ll be paired with an instructor to support classroom activities, help younger campers thrive, and ensure the program runs smoothly—all while building valuable leadership skills.

Program Highlights

The CIT Leadership Program offers a blend of practical experience, professional development, and fun! Here’s what you’ll gain:

  • Leadership Skills: Learn team building, conflict resolution, and how to lead with confidence.
  • Real-World Experience: Work alongside instructors to support our College For Kids summer camp.
  • College Readiness: Attend workshops on financial aid, scholarships, career planning, and more.
  • Service Hours: Earn verification of service hours upon successful completion.

Program Fee: $45 per camp session (includes two program T-shirts). Limited spots available—apply early!

Key Dates and Schedule

Mark your calendar for these important milestones:

  • May 9: CIT Application Deadline
  • May 13–16: CIT Interviews (2–6 p.m., scheduled in 30-minute slots)
  • May 23: Acceptance notifications sent via email
  • June 6: Mandatory Orientation & Leadership Training (12–3 p.m.)
    Topics: Program policies, leadership skills, team building, conflict resolution, SF Achieve workshop, safety training with SF Police Dept.

Summer Camp Schedule (Weeks 1–3)

CITs must commit to a minimum of two (2) weeks of the College For Kids (CFK) summer camp:

  • Week 1: Monday–Friday, 9 a.m.–4 p.m.
    Wednesday: College Readiness Workshop (Financial Aid, Scholarships, Student Life) – 1–2 hours with a guest speaker
  • Week 2: Monday–Friday, 9 a.m.–4 p.m.
    Wednesday: Career Planning Workshop with Jimmy Yawn (includes Myers-Briggs personality test) – 1–2 hours
  • Week 3: Monday–Friday, 9 a.m.–4 p.m.
    Wednesday: College & Career Workshop with Jimmy Yawn (choosing schools/colleges) – 1–2 hours

Note: Daily schedules may be subject to change.

How to Join

  • Submit Your Application: Complete the CIT Application 2025 and include two personal recommendations.
  • Meet the Deadline: All materials must be received by May 9, 2025.
  • Commit to the Program: Selected CITs must attend the mandatory orientation on June 11 and all three weeks of CFK camp.

Only a limited number of teens will be selected—don’t miss your chance!
