Class Descriptions

Artist's Studio: Mixed Media
Learn how pencils and pens are not the only tools artists can use to draw. Train your brain to draw what you see from observation of the natural world and add dimension and life to your drawings.

Adventures in Babysitting
Create your babysitting survival kit with games, and an emergency action plan. With all of these tools, become the best babysitter on the block!

Brain Busters
Did you know that feeding your brain with mind stimulating activities enhances memory and attention? Experience math logic puzzles, mazes, word puzzles, hidden pictures, riddles and more, with a series of games that play tricks on your mind but train your mind to think in different ways.

Broadway Bootcamp
Learn the basics of Broadway theater in a fun, friendly and safe environment. Improve your improv, become a master in monologue and duet singing, and gain insights thru constructive critiques and practice. Learn how to be a super star in this Broadway bootcamp and "break a leg"!

Brush Strokes
Acrylic, watercolor and oil pastels secrets will be revealed! Learn painting techniques that will give the confidence to be the artist you have always wanted to be!

Build It
Just as real-world engineers work together, it is important to be able to problem-solve as a team. Using a variety of mediums, construct models of different famous landmarks from history. Put on engineering hats and design, build, and test engineering creations in this class!

Capturing Life: Photography 101
Capturing the beauty of the real world into a breathtakingly simple, stunning photograph can often seem like an impossible task. Unlock the photographic opportunities by mastering three key elements鈥搇ocations, poses, and execution and be picture perfect. 

Crafts Galore
Try out some DIY crafting, such as jewelry making, loom knitting, and making photo collages (just to name a few)!

Crazy for Yarn!
Learn how to knit, crochet, and various other types of needlepoint crafts in this class that teaches students it's great to CREATE!

CSI: Crime Busters
Use logic, deduction skills and knowledge of CSI/forensics to become a master detective! Explore the science detectives use daily to solve crimes, break cases and catch crooks. Learn how to observe the clues around you and discover "whodunit" in a mock crime scene investigation!

Dancing Around The World
Take a trip around the world through the movement and fun of dance! Explore various cultures and some of their traditional dances in a fresh and kid-friendly way. Learn dances from Ireland, Russia, Africa, South American, and more.

Decorate Your Space
Learn how to create custom craft projects to show off individual and unique flair using a variety of mediums.

Fun With Felt
Did you know that felting is one of the oldest forms of textile art? Discover how to use felting needles and loose wool fibers to shape sculptures from imagination. In this exciting new class, learn to create amazing animals, birds, magical flowers, and much more!

Fun with Physics
Learn about how we utilize speed, gravity, mass, and velocity every single day. Students will take part in hands on physics activities to help them understand how we utilize these properties in our daily lives.

Game Play
Everyday is about a different sport. Find out which sport is for you or just do it...sign up and get challenged. Comfortable clothing and athletic shoes required.

Graphic Novels and Comics
Think you might want to create your own graphic novel or comic one day? Now is that day! Learn story development, character design, world creation, plotting and scripting a story, and the principles of page and panel layout! Learn how to get it all on the page. By the time we are done be on your way to having your own indie comic! (Please note: you do NOT have to be a great artist. Live the dream!).

HotShots: Basketball Clinic
Whether your child is an experienced basketball player or just learning the sport, this exciting new class will improve their game. In partnership with the SF College basketball coaches & athletes, students will learn the fundamentals of basketball, game techniques, improve skills, complete drills and even challenge your teammates. Will YOU be MVP of College for Kids 2025?

Intro. To Design
Learn how to create eye catching postcards, posters, digital media, promotional materials and more using Canva. Go beyond just pulling together random images, through developing an understanding of the relationship between color, images, and fonts.

Jewelry Making
Design fabulous jewelry using the most unlikely materials. Explore with wire, collage, embossing and fiber wrap to create stunning accents, pendants, charms, bracelets and earrings.

LEGO Robotics: Battlebots
In this special 3D design edition, design robotic implements of destruction and battle each other for the title of most creative roboticist! Students will be learning 3D design with the all-new LEGO Spike Prime Robotics coding app.

LEGO Robotics: Invention Squad
Are you always fixing stuff and helping others with your innovative ideas? Do you often think of cool, new ideas & inventions that could make the world a better place or just make a complex task easier to complete? If so, then come share your ideas with others and create what might just be, the next breakthrough of robotics! Bring your inventions to life in this new LEGO Spike Prime Robotics class and join the "Invention Squad" elite!

LEGO Robotics: Spike Prime 101
This new, exciting and educational class will allow your child to build their knowledge in the vast world of electronics, robotics and coding using LEGO's newest platform, SPIKE Prime. SPIKE Prime combines colorful LEGO building elements, easy-to-use hardware, and an intuitive drag-and-drop coding language based on Scratch. SPIKE Prime helps students learn the essential STEAM and 21st century skills needed to become the innovative minds of tomorrow... while having lots of fun!

Movie Making: It's A Wrap
Be a part of a production team and make a short film in this exciting new class. Producers, actors, directors, editors, and marketers - everyone has an important job! Learn how to outline a story, develop a script, gather materials, film, and edit through post-production. 

Movin' and Groovin'
Like to dance and be the life of the party? Well, get your body movin' with this awesome camp that merges the fundamental elements of dance, yoga and cheer to bring out the dancer in you!

Myths and Legends
"Nessie"? "Bigfoot"? Unicorns, dragons, oh my! Learn the history behind some of the greatest myths and legends you've ever heard鈥�what's true and what's fable?

Pickleball
Learn the hottest new sport that's sweeping the nation....Pickleball! Experience this fun, social and friendly game that builds self-confidence, teamwork and more! The rules are simple and the game is easy for beginners to learn, but can develop into a fast-paced, competitive game. There鈥檚 a reason so many players get hooked on this sport 鈥� it鈥檚 easy to start, but hard to stop. Get the basics and get started on your new obsession!

Podcasting Extravaganza
Let your voice be heard! Revolutionize the world or just educate others about your passions with Podcasting. Learn all about the basics of recording, editing, and making your own podcast!

Sculpt It
Create miniatures, functional items, wild 3-D sculptures, and much more in this fun class using air dry clay.

Sketch Artist
Become confident in using graphite pencil, charcoal and colored pencil while expanding your understanding of drawing techniques. These lessons will take your skills to the next level.

Space Challenge: Beyond Earth
Go on a fantastic expedition into our galaxy. Each day students will visit the SF Kika Silva Pla Planetarium and create out-of-this-world art/crafts to showcase what you鈥檝e learned!

Space Challenge: Stars, Dark Matter & Black Holes
Stars are all around us, and they come in various colors and sizes. Learn about our own star (the Sun) and about the other stars of our universe in this week-long adventure at 青青草视频's Kika Silva Pla Planetarium. We will talk about galaxies, black holes and even the topic of 'dark matter'!

The Wizarding World
Immerse yourself in the wizarding world of Harry Potter and the Fantastic Beasts that helped make Hogwarts a legend! Young witches and wizards will study wand creation and create their very own wand, visit magical creatures, gaze at the stars to learn to tell the future, and create potions through the study of plants and other ingredients.

Time Travelers
Travel through time and immerse yourself in some of history's most monumental events. Take a journey to  Ancient Egypt, Medieval Europe, thru the Renaissance and experience the American Revolution in this exciting new class!

Volleyball
Volley your way into a beach sport during the summer. Learn the different formations and set up to get the ball over the net to score.

Yoga
Learn and practice breathing techniques, practice asanas and work on techniques to calm and quiet the mind and strengthen your body. Bring towel or mat.

Zoo Life Adapting To Survive
Why do some animals have spots and others, scales? Why do some animals migrate, while others, hibernate? Discover a variety of animal adaptations and understand why animals develop them! Explore what it takes to survive in this exciting new class in conjunction with the SF Teaching Zoo.

Zoo Life: Grossology
Science isn鈥檛 always neat and tidy 鈥� it鈥檚 sometimes 鈥淕ROSS!鈥� Expand the way you think about the world  by exploring the interesting world of animals and the so-called 鈥済ross鈥� things about them. Learn about the grossness of life in this exciting new class in conjunction with the SF Teaching Zoo.
