SF Softball: Saints Hold Their Own Against Nation鈥檚 Top Team

The Santa Fe Saints hosted the nation鈥檚 top-ranked team for a doubleheader on Saturday. The visiting Florida Southwestern Buccaneers, sitting at No. 1 in the NJCAA, showed why they鈥檝e earned that title, but the Saints didn鈥檛 back down.
In the first game, the Saints couldn鈥檛 find a rhythm at the plate and were shut out 5-0.
Game two told a different story. After falling behind early, the Saints fought back with a big inning of their own and kept the pressure on. The game came down to the final inning, where SF pulled off a dramatic walk-off to win and earn a split for the day.
The Saints return to their home field Tuesday to take on St. Petersburg College, with the first pitch set for 2 p.m.
