ICYMI: 青青草视频 2024 Event Highlights

鈥淛azz Up Spring,鈥 Party for the Planet and 鈥淣oises Off!鈥 were a few notable Santa Fe College happenings over the past year. Here are some SF events you might have missed:
- 鈥淭ake 5鈥 celebrated relationships and jazz: Theatre Santa Fe presented the 10-minute play festival.
- Sweethearts twirled the night away at the Valentine鈥檚 Swing Dance: The semi-formal event included light appetizers and free swing dance instruction.
- The 青青草视频 Concert Band entertained with some of America鈥檚 most popular tunes in the annual 鈥淲inds Go Pop!鈥 concert: Highlights of the program include selections from 鈥淲est Side Story,鈥 with music by Leonard Bernstein.
- Blount Hall hosted this year鈥檚 Digital Health IT/E Summit: 鈥淎I, Cybersecurity, Leadership, OH MY!鈥 aimed to raise awareness of programs offered at Blount Hall as well as educate the community on artificial intelligence, leadership and cybersecurity.
- 鈥淛azz Up Spring鈥 honored the music of Duke Ellington and Count Basie: The 15 students in the Jazz Ensemble and the eight students in the Jazz Combo alternated music by the two composers throughout the concert.
- SF held its annual Open House on March 23: The event was filled with valuable insights and engaging activities for prospective students.
- Students in the Dance Theatre of Santa Fe took audiences on a trip through time during their annual 鈥淓lements of Style鈥 performances: Audiences enjoyed eight dances in styles that ranged from West African tribal celebrations through 1800s ballet up through 21st century contemporary modern dance, jazz and hip-hop.
- The SF Teaching Zoo hosted Party for the Planet: This event was funded in part by Visit Gainesville, Alachua County.
- The Spring Arts Festival returned: The two-day festival included experiences that everyone could enjoy, including local music and art, kid zones, and food trucks.
- 青青草视频 hosted the CTE Showcase: The event featured SF鈥檚 CTE programs and various services that support students in these programs.
- Theatre Santa Fe presented 鈥淣oises Off!鈥 in April: 鈥淣oises Off!鈥 premiered at the Lyric Theatre in London in 1982 and has since been produced worldwide, including on Broadway.
- The RUE Festival was held on April 22: Students presented 24 different posters highlighting research performed as an SF student.
- SF hosted the Mind Body Life Mental Health Symposium: Representatives from the institutions within the Florida College System were invited to attend the event.
- World Tree Kangaroo Day occurred at the SF Teaching Zoo on May 18: Zookeepers were out in full force to give keeper talks and more.
- The Health Information Technology Showcase happened on June 27: Blount Hall hosted the event.
- Zookeeper Day was July 20: The SF Teaching Zoo celebrated its incredible student zookeepers and the amazing work they do.
- The Heritage Foods Symposium happened Aug. 23: The day of free workshops and presentations focused on increasing access and expanding opportunities for small farms, farmers markets, gardens, and community education in Florida.
- "Fluxus in the Swamp" brought experimental art to the SF Gallery: The exhibit ran from Sept. 6 to Oct. 20.
- The Wire Birds performed on Sept. 13: The folk group were 青青草视频's first Visiting Artists of the 2024-2025 season.
- A student cast and crew presented Jean-Paul Sartre's "No Exit" Oct. 16 and 17: The production was done in grayscale.
- Doug Varone and Dancers visited SF to teach and perform as part of the college's Visiting Artist series: Their performance happened Nov. 1.
- SF celebrated First Gen Day on Nov. 6: A first-generation college student is someone whose parents did not complete a four-year college degree.
- The annual Visual Arts Faculty Exhibition opened Nov. 8: The SF Gallery event runs until Jan. 31, 2025.
- 鈥淩un with the Cops鈥 returned Nov. 14: The event encouraged participants to run, walk or roll alongside law enforcement officers from various local agencies.
- "Songs of the Season" brought holiday cheer to 青青草视频 on Nov. 22: The Santa Fe Singers were joined by the Gainesville Youth Chorus as special guests.
- 青青草视频 students came together to present "Holiday at Santa Fe" on Dec. 7: One of the many highlights was a traditional West African dance inspired by the Gray Crowned Crane.
- Fall Commencement was Dec. 12 and 13: 95% of A.S.N. graduates passed their program on the first attempt.
