SF MEN'S BASKETBALL – 5/23/2012
Gainesville, FL – Santa Fe sophomore Matt Conway recently signed a letter of intent with Flagler College, SF coach Chris Mowry announced. Conway, a 6'6" forward, was a versatile member of the Santa Fe Saints 2011-12 Mid-Florida Conference championship team and helped lead SF to a 26-5 record and a #10 NJCAA ranking.
"Matt is a hard working player that can shoot from the outside and also rebound and play on the inside. He will be a great asset to the Flagler College team," said SF coach Chris Mowry.
Conway finished fourth on the team in scoring in 2011-12, averaging 10.2 points per game and pulled down 4.9 rebounds per contest. He played in 29 games, starting 23 of them and shot 44.1% from the three point line, making a team best 56 from behind the arc. On December 3 against Gulf Coast State College, Conway was a perfect 8-for-8 from three point land.
The Flagler College Saints compete at the NCAA Division II level and are led by 26 year Head Coach Bo Clark. Flagler finished the 2011-12 campaign 9-16 overall and 2-15 in Peach Belt Conference play.
