Sankofa African-American History Exhibit Visits Campus, Feb. 21 and 22

The is a historical traveling museum focusing mainly on the pain of slavery. This is an impressive display of over 30 6-foot tables with a plethora of African-American artifacts, writings, and collectibles spanning from the mid-1800s to the period of the Emancipation Proclamation.
The exhibit comes to campus on Monday and Tuesday, Feb. 21 and 22, with the exhibits set up in R-01. Viewing times are 10 a.m.-4:30 p.m. both days.

鈥淜enny Holmes, SFC student development specialist, said 鈥� one of the many highlights is the unique display of inventions by African Americans.
鈥淎ngela Jennings, a native of South Carolina, established the traveling museum in 1995 after realizing that her honor student nephew knew very little about the history of African Americans.
鈥淪ince then, the exhibit has been displayed throughout the United States and other parts of the world, including much of Europe and Africa.
鈥淟ast year, although the exhibit was available for one day only, Holmes said it was viewed by 140 people.鈥�
